A personnel hoist is also referred to as an Alimak (which is a brand of hoist). It can be a cantilever hoist, a tower hoist or a hoist with a multiple winch operation. It allows for the lifting of both people and materials on a building site.
An HP licence allows only for the operation of the hoist. Installing, dismantling or maintenance of the hoist must be carried out by licensed riggers or scaffolders.
An HP licence allows you to operate both an HM (Materials hoist) and HP (personnel and materials) hoist. The HM licence will not allow you to operate an HP hoist.
