Our courses start at 7am unless you are instructed otherwise. Gates will be open at 6.45am. We expect all students to arrive on time as will be expected of you when working in the construction industry. The trainer will usually dismiss you between 1.30 and 3pm depending on course numbers and how you are going. You need to have a break at home and then complete home study / revision.

​We maintain small class sizes to maintain quality training outcomes and ensure personalised support if required. DG, CT, CS, HP are typically no more than 6 students per class. RB, RI and Telehandler are capped at 8 participants. ​Larger groups can be trained in the same week by arrangement and additional trainer/s may be included.

SafeWork HRW licence application fee: An application fee is payable (approx. $90) to SafeWork NSW so that you can convert your NSA email (Notice of Satisfactory Assessment) which is a temporary licence into a high-risk work licence (HRWL). You have 60 days before your NSA expires to submit your application. If you miss the deadline, you will need to apply for an AEN and sit the entire Assessment again. SafeWork Re-Assessment fee: If competency is not achieved at the initial SafeWork Assessment, a re-assessment can be booked after a mandatory 48 hrs. TCT does not generally charge a re-assessment fee; however, a fee of up to $250 may apply.

90 % of our students who enrol in a course successfully complete their course and are deemed competent. We can achieve this by offering further training/ attendance on the course at no extra charge if required. Some students require a little extra time to understand and memorise the theory content. We are passionate about adult learning, and we understand that a lot of the workers in our industry may not have completed any formal study for a long time or may have learning or memory retention issues such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and or ASD (autism spectrum disorder). If English is your second language, then additional training and/or study time may be required.

No, in NSW the person who assesses you is not the person who trained you.

If you do not achieve a satisfactory pass mark with the pre-assessment test the trainer gives you, then the trainer will discuss options with you – either Further training required (FTR) attend another course (for additional training time – usually one to two days) before re-attempting pre-assessment. Or  Study time required (STR) The trainer will recommend you don’t attend the SafeWork Assessment until you have had further time to study the theory. You can attend the next scheduled assessment for your course.

Yes, if the Assessor deems you to be competent you will receive an NSA email (Notice of Satisfactory Assessment) This is a TEMPORARY licence valid for 60 days only. You MUST apply online (via the link in the email sent to you) and pay your application fee with enough time to process your application (don’t leave it to the last day!) so that you can receive you HRW licence (plastic wallet card) in the post. Your digital HRWL is usually available online within a couple of days of your application and you can verify it on the SafeWork NSW website. https://verify.licence.nsw.gov.au/home/HRW

Lunch + Smoko: There are plenty of food places nearby in Campbelltown and a food truck stops by most days. Lunchroom facilities include tea and coffee making facilities with a microwave, fridge, toaster etc. provided if you want to bring your own.

No, there are certain conditions such as – High risk work licence assessments are only available to students who are 18 years old.  Also you must be able to verify your Identity via a Service NSW account.  Interstate applicants no longer require an exemption from SafeWork NSW but will need to create a Service NSW account so that an Assessment Enrolment No (AEN) can be applied for.  Working Safely at Heights and the Gold Card telehandler course are available to students under 18 years of age. ​ A reasonable level of fitness is needed for all courses. For Tower Crane (CT), you’ll need to climb a vertical ladder (around 20 metres) to reach the cabin, so you should be comfortable working at heights and able to climb unassisted while maintaining three points of contact. All SafeWork NSW assessments are conducted in English, and interpreters or translations are not permitted. If you’re unsure about your language, literacy or understanding, please give us a call as we’re happy to talk it through and help you decide if the course is right for you. As part of enrolment, you’ll also complete a short Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

These courses are not designed to be easy. They are high-risk industry qualifications and can be challenging. You’ll need to complete some home study to prepare for the theory component of your High-Risk Work Licence. All assessments are conducted by an accredited SafeWork Assessor. Our trainers will support you every step of the way, as long as you’re willing to put in the effort. We’ll give you the knowledge, practical skills, and guidance you need to succeed. At the end of the day, it’s not just about passing, it’s about making sure you can work safely and confidently, for your own safety and the safety of those around you.

While it is not currently a requirement to hold a Dogging licence before enrolling in a crane operator course (CT or CS), we strongly recommend that you do. A crane operator licence allows you to operate the crane only. It does not allow you to perform dogging tasks such as slinging loads, selecting lifting gear, or inspecting slings. These tasks require a separate Dogging or Rigging licence. For this reason, most employers expect crane operators to also hold a Dogging licence. It provides essential knowledge of lifting operations and helps you work safely and effectively as part of a lifting crew. Regulations are currently under review by SafeWork NSW, and requirements may change in the future.

Yes. VOCs require a site visit to observe employees performing their duties competently.  We conduct VOCs for crane companies and builders both big and small. We do them for individuals as well should they need one. Please call to enquire about availability and cost.
